Is This Where You Are?

Choose your role to see what we do, what changes for you, and what to read next.

What We Do

One coordinated design team working to a fixed design basis, with interfaces between Disciplines resolved before issue, and site queries answered quickly.

What You GainA Programme That Isn't Waiting on Us

Drawings across all four Disciplines, coordinated in one model before issue, so utility and Client review passes without the back-and-forth that was eating your float.

Engineering Scope.

The support is selected around your Asset, the decision ahead and the agreed Project Stage.

Electrical

  • Single-line diagrams, layouts and sections
  • Protection philosophy and setting calculations
  • Earthing grids with step and touch potential verification
  • Lightning protection
  • Cable sizing, routing and schedules
  • Hazardous area classification

Mechanical

  • Process skids and packaged systems
  • Pressure vessels, storage tanks and heat exchangers
  • Boilers, thermic fluid heaters and chimneys
  • Piping layout, pipe stress and supports
  • Cooling and ventilation

Civil & Structural

  • Pipe racks, platforms and equipment structures
  • Substation gantries, towers and poles
  • Equipment, tank, chimney and tower foundations
  • Cable trenches, ducting and drainage

Instrumentation & Controls

  • Control philosophy and instrument loops
  • SCADA and substation automation to IEC 61850
  • Energy and building management systems
  • Metering and signal lists specified with the electrical design

At Each Project Stage.

Where you are in the Project decides what you need from us.

Feasibility & Concept

Fix the concept before capital is committed.

  • Preliminary design and layouts
  • Design basis and applicable codes
  • Concept sizing of equipment and structures

Detailed Design

Construction-ready engineering.

  • Coordinated drawings across four Disciplines
  • Calculations against the governing code
  • Equipment specifications and schedules
  • 3D coordination and clash checks

Tender & Procurement

Specifications that make bids comparable.

  • Technical specifications and datasheets
  • Vendor drawing review
  • Technical bid evaluation

Construction

Keep the build faithful to the design.

  • Site query resolution
  • Design-change control
  • As-built mark-up review

Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning

Support through testing and energisation.

  • Commissioning support against design settings
  • Punch-list review

Operation & Maintenance

Modify with the design basis in hand.

  • Retrofit and upgrade engineering
  • Modification design for plant changes

How We Work on It.

The method behind every engagement. The detail is set out in the proposal and the design basis.

01Design BasisCodes, specifications, site data and criteria agreed and frozen.
02StudiesRatings and settings confirmed before equipment is specified.
03Coordinated DesignAll Disciplines designed in one model, with interfaces resolved.
04Independent CheckCalculations and drawings checked by a second engineer.
05Issue and SupportIssued for construction, then site queries and controlled changes.

Inputs and Deliverables.

A practical starting point and the Engineering outputs to agree for your Project.

01 / Starting information

What We Need from You

  • Available single-line diagram, plot plan and equipment layout

The exact deliverables and formats are fixed in the agreed scope for each Project.

Standards and Compliance.

We engineer to the standards and regulations that govern your Project, fixed in the design basis.

International StandardsIEC, IEEE, ISO, ASME and API standards, as the Project requires.
National CodesThe codes of the country where the asset is built: BIS and CEA in India, NEC in the USA, BS in the UK, EN in Europe, AS/NZS in Australia, GSO and SASO in the Gulf.
Utility & Authority RequirementsGrid codes, utility specifications and the approvals of the connecting authority.
Client & Lender SpecificationsOwner, licensor and lender requirements, fixed in the design basis.

Typical references for this Service: IEC 61936-1, IEC 60364, IEEE 80, ASME Section VIII, API 650.

Applicable standards and editions are agreed and fixed in each Project's design basis.

Questions Clients Ask.

Which disciplines can you cover on one project?

All four: electrical, instrumentation and controls, mechanical, and civil and structural. Most Clients use us for two or more together, which is where coordination pays off.

What voltage range do you design for?

Up to 765 kV for substations, switchyards and transmission lines; plant and facility electrical systems from LV to 132 kV.

Can you work under our name?

Yes. For OEMs, fabricators and sub-consultants we deliver confidential or white-labelled packages.

Can you review a design as well as produce one?

Yes, but not on the same Project. We never act as Detailed Engineer and as Owner's or Independent Engineer on one Project.
